Meet the Author

K.L. ‘Wyatt’ Tokar is a U.S. Army veteran and retired federal law enforcement professional who writes from a life shaped by faith, family, and quiet service. Raised in Ohio by parents who stood among the men and women of the the Greatest Generation, he now lives in Central Texas with his wife of 36 years and a growing circle of grandchildren. His writing reflects the lessons of time and grace—about character, perseverance, and the kind of strength that doesn’t seek applause.

Embracing warmth, wit, and a touch of dry humor, his work invites readers to slow down, reflect, and hold on to the things in life that truly matter. Whether he’s writing about the grit of the old trail, the hope that anchors a weary soul, or the loyal companionship of a four-legged friend, each piece is rooted in quiet truths and honest living. His work reminds us that some of the clearest lessons in life don’t always come from the pulpit or the lectern—but from the simple truths revealed to us in daily living, including those we learn through the faithful companion sittin’ right by our side.
